Finally, after having gone missing for many long winter months the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and rain has replaced the snow. April is here, welcoming a new season, imprinting green on the minds of all Michiganders. April showers not only bring May flowers, but other things as well.
Lately, when one thinks of “green,” foliage, fruit, and frogs aren’t the only things that come to mind. Green means sustainability. April 22 marks Earth Day, a day to celebrate our natural environment.
The first Earth Day was celebrated in April, 1970, to promote respect for the environment and raise awareness of important environmental issues. Earth Day is now celebrated globally in more than 150 countries.
Micro Visions, Inc. is proud to use Earth Day as an opportunity to point out how our own Securelink Essentials managed IT services help our clients improve the environment while bolstering their bottom lines. Drastically reducing on-site service calls, we’re traveling fewer miles, using less gasoline and emitting less carbon into the air. Applying virtualization and cloud technologies, we’re reducing for our clients the number of on-site servers they require, using less electricity and fewer resources otherwise dedicated to building the extra equipment. Offering hardware as a service, we’re taking from our clients the hassle of dispositioning obsolete hardware, making sure that it’s properly recycled, and ensuring the effective use of the most energy efficient hardware solutions. Centralizing control of networked devices, we work with our clients to remotely configure workstations to power down over night, saving more electicity. These are some of the aspects of Micro Visions Securelink Essentials managed IT services program that are saving money and our natural resources.
If you have questions regarding how well Securelink Essentials can work for your business, please call us at 616-776-0400 or visit us on the web at Micro Visions, Inc.

How to Recycle or Donate your Unused Technology

Individuals and businesses are finding new reasons to upgrade their technology every day. As thousands of people replace their computers daily, where does this old technology go?
