Network Engineer
Description:
Responsibilities include designing, specifying, configuring, installing, testing, and maintaining LAN/WAN hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, operating system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, modems, cabling, and Internet service providers; install and test software and hardware upgrades; developing and implementing policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup; consulting with clients to develop and implement system solutions consistent with organizational objectives that are cost-effective and enhance productivity; researching and evaluating new technologies; planning and managing multiple projects; providing technical assistance to clients and employees.
Requirements:
MCSE plus two to three years field experience installing and supporting network operating systems; network operating system utilities such as backup, remote access (including terminal server or Citrix), network management, virus protection, software distribution, network fax; groupware products such as Microsoft Exchange; Internet/WAN connectivity and security including routers, firewalls, and other components. Linux and Novell knowledge is a plus. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual interested in joining an entrepreneurial team, able to keep pace in a fast moving, always evolving workplace; and be able to adapt to new technology. Excellent communication and customer service skills are critical.
